Overview

I led the production, distribution, and promotion process for the Sunday Night Convos Podcast from D1Baseball.

Weekly Process

At the beginning of each week, I checked the podcast schedule to see the theme and guest(s) for the week’s episode. After conducting some research on the team and/or conference being covered on the episode, I collaborated with Senior Baseball Account Director Pat James to write the episode preview.

Once approved, I would open StreamYard to set up the broadcast. I would insert the name of the episode, upload the thumbnail, and include the preview in the description box. In order to make sure the broadcast goes live on D1Baseball’s social media platforms, I use the scheduling tools to set the date and time as well as the broadcast destinations. Each week, the episode went live on YouTube, X, and Facebook.

On Sunday nights, I would log into the StreamYard broadcast 30 minutes beforehand to set up the graphics, headers, and advertisements. Mike Rooney, the host, would log in 15 minutes prior to run through key points of the episode with me, and then the guest(s) would enter the remote broadcast.

I coordinated with Mike Rooney on when to begin the broadcast, pressing “Go Live” and ensuring we were live on all platforms before directing him to begin the show. Throughout the podcast, I made sure all graphics and partnerships were executed properly on air, and live-edited the graphics to allow viewers to keep up with the conversation no matter what time they join the stream.

Following the broadcast, I downloaded the audio files and brought them into Adobe Audition. There, I inserted an advertisement and downloaded it as a .mp3 file.

Using Simplecast, an audio distribution platform, I uploaded the file and attributed it under The D1Baseball Podcast feed on major streaming platforms. I would add more sponsored messages and incorporate tags, key words, people, and a description. Directly from Simplecast, I’m able to upload the podcast to platforms like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and more.

The next day, I downloaded the podcast video feed and created short-form and mid-length video content for D1Baseball’s social media channels. You can view that content here.
